I woke up this morning to a cold, cold day and five inches of fresh powder covering the landscape. It was lovely! Snow makes December seem like, well … December! When it’s just cold out, I snuggle back under the covers. But when it snows! Well, then I’m up and motivated.
The quiet before the sun, and the rest of the neighborhood, fully awake offers a special way to start the day. Quiet, except for the scraping of the shovel.
I was out shoveling the driveway by 7:30 a.m. Only one set of neighbors was out at that hour — and they were nearly done shoveling their three-car wide driveway! That’s intrepid.
I paused several times to take photos — as you can see!
After awhile, another neighbor drove up. She’d been out even earlier taking her son to meet his ski coach for the Falcons program at Mt. Rose.
The ski area — just 15 minutes away on a dry-road day — received more than 15 inches! Time to get the old skis waxed …
